Mondays
mornings:
Chinese Wand Classes
Time: Monday

Description:
This is a safe, effective and fun way to start your morning, have fun
and make new friends. from an ancient method of health, this
helps to balance the bodies functions and energy as it improves
strength, cardiovascular fitness, flexibility, balance, youthful
vitality and more. These exercises are appropriate for any
age
or ability, are done gently and without strain, benefiting the body by
mobilizing the joints, stretching muscles, improving circulation and
concentration. We will be using a 4 foot stick to
exercise. Sticks are available for purchase in class if
you do not have one.

Tuesday

Chi Kung and Tai
Chi Classes
Time:
Tuesday mornings - 9 a.m. to 10 a.m
Location: The
Centre, 5000 Clark Avenue, Lakewood, CA
Description:
Start your day the right way with this great class! Join in,
have a good workout and make new friends. Tai Chi and Chi
Kung's natural, calming and graceful movement will build and
accumulate your energy rather than dissipate it as some exercise will
do. This method will leave you energized without pounding
your joints and body. Tai Chi and Chi Kung will build
endurance, relax and relieve tension, improve health and
healing as it builds longevity and youthful vitality. This
will improve your overall fitness and sense of well being, you will
find it easier to move, concentrate and feel energized for the rest of
the day.

Aerobic Workout with Zero
Impact
Time: Wednesday mornings - 9 a.m. to 10 a.m
Location: The
Centre, 5000 Clark Avenue, Lakewood, CA
Description:
This tried and true Chinese workout develops and increases aerobic
activity, strength, stamina, coordination, muscle tone throughout the
body, and balance through repeated rhythmic movement of all the muscle
groups all with zero impact. This method exercises both the
lower and upper extremities, improves flexibility of muscles and
joints, giving a full rang of motion. This method is both
knee and back friendly and appropriate for all levels, including those
with physical conditions preventing impact.

Description:
Enjoy the serenity of nature at beautiful Monte Verde Park.
You'll learn the Yang Short Form, Chi Kung (Qigong) and other exercises
in this great class. Reduce stress, improve circulation and
balance, strengthen your body and improve health with this gentle mode
of exercise. Class will be held either inside or outside
depending on weather.
Fee:
Lakewood residents - $28 for 6 weeks -
Non residents - $33 for 6 weeks

Thursday evenings:
Tai Chi and Chi Kung Classes
Time: Thursday evenings - 6:00 to 7:00 p.m
Location: Weingart Senior Center, 5220 Oliva, Lakewood
Description:
Tai Chi is an exercise method coordinating breath, movement and
relaxation while improving and increasing the bodies energy. Tai Chi has it roots as a martial art but it can be practiced for
health, martial arts or both. All students will learn the
Yang Short Form as well as other health exercises. Tai Chi
has proven to reduce stress, improve circulation and balance and
increase strength, health and wellness. Qigong (energy work)
is also practiced in this class. If you are looking for a fun
workout and activity and way to make new friends join this
class.
Fee: Lakewood residents - $24 for 6 weeks - Non residents - $29 for 6 weeks
